Salt Hotel

The bricks are salt. The mortar between the bricks is made from salt. The floor is covered in crushed salt.

The roof is corrugated tin/aluminum with occasional translucent, plastic/fiberglass panels as skylights.

At this elevation, about 12,000 feet (3657m), it gets cold at night, usually below 40ºF/5ºC at night in March. This hotel has no heating, yet it was warm at dawn when we woke up. The hotel from the previous night was cold, so perhaps the salt bricks warm up more thoroughly in the sunlight and hold the heat better than cement bricks do...
