Laguna Verde

This lagoon gets its color from magnesium, sulfur, and arsenic. It contains so much arsenic that it's highly toxic and it never freezes, not even when the temperatures go below -50ºC.

When the wind is right, it's even more green.

Just a few dozen meters away (on the left), is Laguna Blanca, another lagoon, but it has plenty of life (flamingos, sea gulls, algae, etc), and apparently, much less arsenic.

Elevation: ~4340m (14,240ft)
